1.3m mobile phone deals too much

There are now some 1.3 million mobile phone deals on the market, leaving consumer bewildered over how to get the best contract

This is causing many to sign up to deals that are unsuitable or too costly for their needs.

Two-thirds of mobile phone users polled by Consumer Focus said there were too many mobile tariffs and the different offers on data allowances, texts, and calls make people more confused.

The watchdog found that people are concerned about complex tariffs, poor price transparency and quality of service.

Ofcom is now is accrediting comparison websites that truly compare all the deals on offer.
